I’m Alex Smith—a singer, songwriter, guitarist, author, and longtime RVer who is still performing, creating, and learning at 75. Some people may know me from my years of performing as “Muddy.”

Here you’ll find original songs, honest and sometimes amusing stories from the gigging life, and simple thoughts about singing, playing guitar, songwriting, getting gigs, and working with other musicians.

My series, Singing Is Learnable at Any Age, is especially for people beginning—or beginning again—later in life. We’ll also explore ways ordinary musicians can perform, connect with others, and even earn a little money—at home, onstage, or on the road.

This is mostly entertainment for everyone, with something useful for singers, musicians, RVers, and performers along the way.

Two simple rules: Do what you like, and don’t worry about the outcome.
