AICCRE Regional Federation of Piedmont

AICCRE (Italian Association for the Council of European Municipalities and Regions) - Regional Federation of Piedmont

On February 19, 1966, in Asti, in the setting of Palazzo Ottolenghi, the AICCE Federation of Piedmont was established, the Italian Association for the Council of European Municipalities founded in Rome in 1952 with the aim of leading municipalities into a European dimension. , creating twinning between homologues of the various states. The constitution of the regional Federation represents an absolute novelty in the history of the AICCE (since 1984 called AICCRE), destined to lead the way to other Italian regions and significantly affect the structure of the National Association itself, which from then on will increasingly assume a direct diffusion on the territories, favoring the European action of local institutions.
