Yakki English in 60 seconds

YAKKI - English in 60 seconds. Short English grammar lessons with Yak and Ki, two lovebirds. Explanations come in the learner's own language: Hebrew, Arabic, Russian or English.

How we choose what to teach: by evidence. For each rule we count how many independent sources describe the same learner mistake. So far 34 sources: books and studies on learner errors, reference grammars, and essays written by Hebrew, Arabic and Russian speakers (a learner corpus). Research on speakers of Indian languages is under way.

Formats: 20-second mistake clips, theory on the board, game scenes and pronunciation. Grammar trainers on yakki.app are free, no sign-up.

Teachers, linguists, schools, language centres and teacher associations: let's adapt YAKKI to your language or region together. Help us fit the explanations and examples to your learners and their typical mistakes, pilot it with your students and bring it to your community. Write to admin@yakki.app
