Windknospe

"His annual rhythm is such that he does not yearn to be elsewhere, rather, he is always already there."

Helmut Kand is a painter who has made countless journeys through the land of the "cloud gardeners", a visual alchemist, a visionary dreamer, and a magician of color. His work leaves room for many things: glimpses of reality, intuitive premonitions, longings, sudden flashes of thought, the chaos of dreams, and a vocabulary accessible to the viewer a visual language that is, in an archaic sense, timeless.

In his paintings one senses a Mediterranean zest for life, a rhythmic Abracadabra that serves as a bath for the eyes and the soul.
