Water, Wind and the Wide World

"Water, Wind and the Wide World" is the name of the book by Carl Kircheiss, in which he wrote down his adventures as a cabin boy on the barque NÜRNBERG. I recreated the barque as a remote-controlled model. My YouTube channel shows the historical analysis of the ship, how it probably looked like, and describes the construction of the model in various clips.

The barque NÜRNBERG belongs to the Minisail-Classic fleet. These sailing ship models all have real, historical prototypes and are faithful to the original and very fine scaled recreated. They are powered by the wind only, except for those models that also had an auxiliary drive. In my channel there are videos from the Minisail Classic meetings with their different models.

Model building of RC sailing ships is a wonderful hobby. Sailing together on the lakes brings the time of old sailing ships back to life for the members of the Minisail Classic, surrounded by a breath of water, wind and the wide world!
