The Voyages of QE II

This site is intended to chronicle the sailing adventures of the QE II.  Owned by Larry and Elizabeth Hunter-Blank, she is a 38 foot sailing vessel in which we plan to circumnavigate each of the Great Lakes and transit the Down East Loop over the summers of 2023, 2024 and 2025. Beginning around Memorial Day of 2023, we will depart Chicago and head north along the Michigan shore of Lake Michigan; south along the US shoreline of Lake Huron then east on Lake Erie and into Lake Ontario.  

The following summer will be spent on the Down East Loop, sailing up the St. Lawrence Seaway, around Nova Scotia and around New England, finishing up the Hudson River and into the Erie Canal.

Our final year will be spent along the Canadian side of the Great Lakes; focusing on the Georgian Bay, North Channel and then circumnavigating Lake Superior.  We then head for home along the Wisconsin side of Lake Michigan before returning to "Sweet Home Chicago".
