Violation Is Rock

Violation was formed in the late 70’s by guitarists Paul Harris and Perry Fotos in Livermore, California. They were later joined by bassist Brian Khoury and drummer Mike Pavlick.

The band played numerous San Francisco Bay Area clubs, sharing the stage with Metallica, Motley Crue, The Joe Perry Project, Aldo Nova, Quiet Riot, Vandenberg and Y&T.

In 1982, after Pavlick's departure, the remaining members recorded three original songs with an uncredited Leonard Haze of Y&T on drums. The resulting single of “Meet Me at Midnight” b/w “Balls Out."

With the success of the single, Shrapnel Records asked the band to record a new version “Gonna Get to You” for release on US Metal, Vol. 3, the third in a series of albums featuring the best unsung metal guitarists. The track featured new band members, Tim Hall, on lead vocals and drummer Don “Rocket” Stephenson.

After the release of the album, Hall left the band and Violation disbanded in 1983.
