Things New and Old

The Bible studies on this channel aspire to reflect the teaching of a scribe prepared unto the kingdom of heaven, who brings forth things new and old (Matt 13:52). They were originally presented at Washtenaw Independent Bible Church in Ann Arbor, MI, and seek to expound the scriptures in a way that makes clear not only what the Lord is saying, but also how we can derive that meaning from the text. A major focus is detecting and understanding the structural markers that biblical writers used to organize their material, primarily various patterns of repetition (including chiasms, alternations, internal and external inclusios, and literary forms and other syntagms). Further materials are available at the cyber-chapel link associated with this channel.
