South Ayrshire's Field of Heroes

May 8th 2025 is the 80th Anniversary of VE Day - the end of the second world war in Europe. South Ayrshire has a proud contribution to WW2 and to the activities that led its ending.   We are celebrating and commemorating that contribution byy creating video stories of local people who served in the military or on the home front.   Some of these videos will be linked to an art installation in Wellington Square in Ayr form 1st to th10th May 2025.   108 silhouettes of military personnel will be displayed in the square - each one represents a local person who fell in WW2.
