The Uplifting Sounds of Faith

The Uplifting Sounds of Faith is unlike any other Christian music program. It offers a carefully curated musical mix ranging from ancient anthems to classic hymns to present-day praise-and-worship songs — performed by outstanding orchestras, singers, and solo instrumentalists.

Back story: In the 1970s, Jim Hutto of Atlanta's WPCH lamented that the station's Sunday-morning religious programming wasn't very good. “If you can do better,” management told him, “then do it.”

Taking up the challenge, he developed the Christian music program Sounds of Faith. Audience response was overwhelming, and the program became a Sunday fixture on WPCH, airing for more than 30 years. 

Sounds of Faith was also syndicated to other markets and served as the model for the seven-days-a-week "Masterful Music" format that aired for 25 years on WMSL in Athens, Ga.

The Uplifting Sounds of Faith continues the tradition of the original program.
