University of York, Dept of Archaeology

Welcome to the Youtube Channel for the Department of Archaeology at The University of York. Here you'll find all sorts of archaeological content: not just about our department, but news, tips on getting into archaeology or applying for a degree, and advice from our graduates. We hope these videos give you a little insight into life in the department, as well as documenting a little of our history: you'll find material about our time based at the Kings Manor (1995-2026), about our work in the Environment Building and the YEAR Centre, a little about our early years in Micklegate House before that, and (soon!) about our exciting new home in Heslington.

There's plenty from our students themselves too, both formal and informal.

And if you want to find out more about our community, why not follow us on instagram?
