Tips from the Hip

'Tips from the Hip' emerged from childhood of belly dancing professionally on taverna stages beneath the Parthenon at the free-thinking hip of my Saggitarian mom, Rhea of Greece. 

As a kid, the tips received were the practical/philosophical life teachings from mom & gifts the audience bestowed on my tray after a show.  I received Russian nesting dolls, carved wood perfume vials, even an 18K gold watch a Saudi prince took off his wrist to put on my 9-year old one! I met generous, loving people from around the globe....

Like any goddess worth her salt, I’ve crossed cultures & taken on / been given different names. I dance & teach circus arts. I am a Reiki & Qi Gong practitioner. I podcast as Mythic Mel on Awakening Airwaves. 

Both of my first names contain Meli - « honey » in Greek. Honey is healing nectar.
