ThummerApp

Most phone security protects a phone that is already locked. Thieves increasingly grab phones while they are open, when a banking app, email or photo library is on the screen. Thummer works from a simple idea: if the owner is holding the phone, the owner’s thumb is on the screen. The owner rests one thumb in a small, movable “Safe Zone” bubble and uses the phone normally with the other hand. If the thumb leaves the screen, the display goes black instantly, Thummer asks for the owner’s fingerprint, and if the owner is not verified within five seconds, the whole phone locks with Android’s own device lock. An optional alarm then sounds a full-volume siren, flashes the flashlight and puts a “Locked” message on the lock screen until the owner unlocks the phone.
Thummer is built for anyone whose phone is out and unlocked in public: commuters, travelers, festival and concert crowds, nightlife, students, journalists, and anyone who uses banking or payment apps on the go.
