Thinking Around the Question is a long-form podcast hosted by psychiatrist Dr Musa Sami and anthropologist Dr Jonathan Newman.

This is not a podcast about easy answers or winning arguments. It is a space for slow, unscripted conversations where uncertainty is taken seriously and authority is questioned rather than performed.

Musa and Jonathan explore mental health, psychiatry, anthropology, faith, war, identity, science, power, and morality—drawing on clinical experience, fieldwork, history, and lived reality. Episodes move from forensic psychiatry and trauma culture to global mental health, charity, evidence, and the limits of expertise.

These discussions are often uncomfortable, sometimes humorous, and always human. Nothing is treated as too sacred, too political, or too complex to examine honestly.
