The Whole Athlete

The Whole Athlete was born out of our love for sports and our recognition of how much they inform who we are. We want to help athletes connect with what they love about sport and the complex ways being an athlete impacts them as a whole person.  

We support athletes of all ages and abilities because we understand that being an athlete isn't about how good you are but about what it means to you.  

We also know that being an athlete is not a solo endeavor - we are impacted by the people around us and the culture of our sport.  We aim to educate and empower coaches, parents, PTs, and other professionals to support their athlete's wellbeing. 

As high level athletes, mental health therapists, coaches and researchers Doug and Christy are uniquely situated to understand the complexities of being an athlete and how to support people through all of the inevitable ups and downs.
