The Elundu Expedition Project

The Elundu Project was born in 1987 when My squad of sappers abandoned the Elundu base camp on the South West Africa/Angola border after demolishing it. Alongside my brothers in arms we defended the camp with our lives on two occasions. Elundu was a place where I narrowly escaped with my life on two occasions, in fact many did lose their lives there over the years. Yet to me as a 19 year old soldier in the South African Defense Force, Elundu was a place I called home.
As we exited the walls for the last time, I made a promise to myself that I would one day return.
Without realizing it I had set in motion a course of events that would dominate my life many years later.
Join me on my quest to reach Elundu!
