The Portals - PMPS Parents Band

The Portals (previously known as The Last Port), is a Melbourne-based band of passionate parent musicians connected through their children attending Port Melbourne Primary School, was formed over 5 years ago with a mission to promote music education and cultivate a love for music among their kids while supporting their community through performances at school fundraising events. In 2019, they were invited to the "Parents Battle of the Bands" competition at the Prince Band Room in St Kilda, Melbourne, where they competed alongside eight other school parent bands, with proceeds benefiting local school music programs.

In 2023 Last Port won the Southside Battle & then battled off against the Northside bands to take out the top spot in front of some iconic Melbourne muso-judges. In 2024, as band members changed, the Last Port had a name change to The Portals as they prepare to take the stage again!
