Dr. Joy Eberhardt, MD, FAAP

Welcome to The PDA Doc Podcast.

I’m Dr. Joy Eberhardt, MD, FAAP—a board-certified pediatrician with specialized training and experience in developmental and behavioral pediatrics and integrative care. I’m also a PDAer and a parent of PDA children.

Here, we explore Persistent Drive for Autonomy, also known as Pathological Demand Avoidance, through a compassionate, whole-person lens. We’ll look beneath behavior to better understand what a child’s nervous system may be communicating, how demands can feel, and why the environment around a child matters.

This channel is for parents, caregivers, clinicians, educators, and PDAers looking for thoughtful conversations, practical insight, and a little more understanding.

No shame. No blame. And room for a little silliness along the way. 🌿
