The Foreword

The Foreword is an English-language channel featuring videos, short clips, and discussions about faith, hope, suffering, purpose, and our journey back to Allah.

Drawing on the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the works of classical and contemporary scholars, Mahdi Lock seeks to share some of the things that he himself has found beneficial over the years, in the hope that others may benefit from them as well.

Mahdi Lock is a teacher, writer, and translator of classical Arabic Islamic texts into English. Among his published translations are works by Imam al-Ghazali, Imam an-Nawawi, Imam as-Suyuti, Imam ash-Sha'rawi, Imam Muhammad Sa'id Ramadan al-Bouti, and Imam Wahbah az-Zuhayli. He has studied with teachers in the United Kingdom, North Africa, and the Middle East, and has taught Arabic and English in the United Kingdom, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia.

He is the director of Arkview Arabic and Arkview Shafi'i Fiqh, and a translator for Nawa Books.
