The Ferris Wheel Heritage

Ferris Wheel Heritage preserves and shares the story of George Washington Gale Ferris Jr., the original 1893 Ferris Wheel, and the family, engineering, and archival record behind a name known around the world.

Here we explore the real history of the Wheel, original sources and photographs, engineering stories, the descendants Ferris family archive, and new films and short-form stories inspired by that history — including Ride It in the Storm and The Ferris Wheel musical project.

Ferris Wheel Heritage is a family heritage and research archive maintained by members of the Ferris family.
