The echo chambers we increasingly find ourselves in, as a traditional legacy media gives way to the more atomised space of social media, have – via algorithms which reinforce, rather than challenge, our innate prejudices – led many of us into cognitive cul-de-sacs out of which it can be difficult to escape; the distorted versions of history that such a paradigm shift encourages has certainly not helped this nascent problem.

Bringing to the table their different perspectives, as well as a mutual respect born of their longstanding friendship, Jacob and Harley seek to bridge the gap, injecting a note of civility into debates not only around little-known historical topics, but also around the broader shaping of present-day political narratives that use (or, indeed, misuse) history for their own ends.
