The Demonstration Tapes

THE DEMONSTRATION TAPES consists of Fredrik Færden, Lars Heintz, and Pedro Carmona-Alvarez – all former members of the 90s band SISTER SONNY, which released albums between 1998 and 2007 before going into a coma.
THE DEMONSTRATION TAPES is a collaborative project based on a manifesto: to create one song per American state, mentioning the state in the lyrics and title, and releasing 50 songs by 2026, coinciding with the USA's 250th anniversary. The music will be released as digital EPs and in physical formats in collaboration with Apollon Records.
THE DEMONSTRATION TAPES has probably THE WORST TIMING IN WORLD HISTORY: We remember with dread Leonard Cohen's visionary line: You won't like what comes after America, because it suddenly feels very acute. We all have a deep affection for the USA, a mediated, romanticized, glorified version, nonetheless.
This project is also a sort of love letter, written to a shadow or a ghost.
