The Decaffeinated Ukulele

Hey, I’m glad you’re here. Welcome to the Decaffeinated Ukulele—where we play great songs without the caffeine rush! I spent 28 years teaching elementary general music, helping kids discover that making music doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. I currently lead The Midnight Ukulele Society, a performing ukulele group based in Richmond, Virginia. I’ve grown to love the ukulele for its simplicity and its depth—it’s an instrument you can start playing quickly, but one that continues to grow with you over time.

This channel is for beginners, late starters, and anyone who loves good songs but doesn’t want complicated lessons or flashy techniques. We’re taking classic tunes and stripping them down to four strings—easy chords, relaxed strums, and a pace that actually feels doable.
