The Chismark Paper

The Chismark Paper makes Texas property taxes, school finance, and public policy easier to understand.

Founded by Ryan Chismark, a property tax and public finance expert with decades of experience, The Chismark Paper goes beyond headlines and political talking points to explain how the system actually works — and what proposed changes could mean for taxpayers, communities, schools, and the future of Texas.

Through straightforward videos and real-world examples, Ryan breaks down complex issues including property tax bills, appraisals, local government budgets, school funding, tax reform, and the tradeoffs behind proposed solutions.

The goal isn't to tell you what to think. It's to give you the information you need to make up your own mind.
