The Canopy with Jacob Hooker

A diagnosis, a treatment, a story, a felt experience: four accounts of the same mind, and they don't fully agree. Help us find out why.

The Canopy is a series of unhurried, one-on-one conversations about how mental health looks different depending on who's describing it: the scientist, the doctor, the culture, the person living it. Guests are scientists, physicians, and historians close to the problem, and each conversation follows the open questions wherever they lead, in pursuit of truths none of those four accounts reach alone.

Hosted by Jacob Hooker, a scientist who spent seventeen years studying the brain at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital before co-founding Sensorium Therapeutics, developing psychiatric medicines drawn from nature's own chemistry. Understanding alone was never quite enough; The Canopy is where that search keeps going, with people who take it as seriously as he does.
