Nestled in the Angus Glens, on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park, lies the Bothy Distillery—a space where nature and tradition converge. Our whisky embodies the land and its heritage.

The rugged terrain was both ally and adversary. Smugglers relied on their intimate landscape knowledge to evade excise officers, who patrolled these hills with equal determination. Legends of close calls and daring escapes still linger here, like the mist rolling over the heather-clad hills. It was a time of ingenuity and defiance when whisky wasn’t just a drink but a lifeblood of the Highland way of life.

At the Bothy Distillery, we honour this heritage while embracing innovation. Our whisky draws on the legacy of those before us. Each drop distilled embodies Glen Prosen’s spirit, linking land and history with modern ideas.
