Bladder Exstrophy, Cloacal Exstrophy & Epispadias are rare congenital conditions that affect the development of the urinary and reproductive systems before birth. Together, they are part of the exstrophy-epispadias complex (EEC).

Bladder Exstrophy occurs when the bladder develops outside the body and is exposed through an opening in the lower abdomen. It may affect the pelvic bones, urinary system, and reproductive organs.

Cloacal Exstrophy, also called OEIS complex, is an extremely rare and more complex condition that can involve the bladder, bowel, reproductive organs, spine, and pelvis.

Epispadias occurs when the urethra does not develop normally and can occur alone or with bladder exstrophy.

These conditions can involve multiple surgeries, lifelong medical care, and challenges affecting everyday life.
