The Aurora Project - CSS Polaris

Aurora is Canada’s 30-year sovereign capability-building strategy spanning energy, materials, computing, manufacturing, research and space.

The Canadian Space Sciences Academy establishes pavilions in every province and territory.
SMR deployment powers a national Air Separation Unit network generating industrial gas revenues while dedicated noble gas recovery accumulates strategic xenon reserves.
Tritium management in CANDU reactors feeds helium-3 accumulation.
Domestic space-grade metallurgy, advanced composites, synthetic biology, closed-loop agriculture and medical isotope production come online progressively — funded through converging federal, provincial and Crown corporation budgets.

Phase I builds infrastructure and trains master tradespeople.
Phase II designs and qualifies CSS Polaris subsystems.
Phase III assembles, launches and operates the vessel.

CSS Polaris is the culminating demonstration of Canadian industrial sovereignty, Aurora is the achievement.
