Teach Kids to Read - The Active Reader

The Active Reader helps parents and teachers use Science of Reading methods to build strong, confident readers.

I’m Rebecca, a teacher and literacy specialist with 15+ years of experience, and I create short, step-by-step lessons you can use right away at home or in the classroom.

On this channel, you’ll find clear, practical videos on phonics instruction, phonemic awareness routines, and structured literacy that actually follow the research. Learn how to teach letter sounds, blend and segment words, use decodable texts, and support struggling readers without guessing or memorizing whole words.
