Tankers AND Tumbleweeds

From the Gulf to the high desert. I left a VP job in Houston oil & gas to become a ranch hand in northern New Mexico, and Tankers AND Tumbleweeds is the real story of that change, three months in.

I spent years in oil & gas and maritime logistics, including time as a cargo rep on a chemical tanker. Those are the tankers. Now I'm on dry land, working on a hunting ranch near Ocate, NM, where the tumbleweeds roll by.

What you'll find here:
• Honest talk about leaving corporate life: the good, the hard, and whether it's worth it
• Ranch life, from elk season to fixing off-grid solar, spring boxes, cisterns and pumps
• Homesteading skills I'm picking up along the way
• Plenty of Sally, my rescue dog and ride-or-die copilot, and her sister Sacha
