Technic and Ecological Humanities - THECO

We are an interdisciplinary group of researchers who start from a basic idea: societies are eco-dependent. We cannot, therefore, continue to create Humanities that turn their backs on the material, planetary conditions in which we live. We need “Ecological Humanities” that assume a perspective of symbiosis between nature and culture, reintegrating human systems into natural systems and clearing paths for a new non-anthropocentric humanism that is essential for moving towards Degrowth.

We are based at the Carlos III University of Madrid, although the group is made up of an international network of researchers from other universities and research centres.
