Ṭaüs

Ṭaüs طاووس is the solo music project of audio-spatial artist Ṭaus al Chalabi. 

Ṭaüs' work explores openings into ecstatic state and poetic eroticism, resulting in a creative output that is bold, raw, and confidently vulnerable. A testing ground for production techniques and musical intuitions, this project is the creative genesis for a musical logic that has expanded broadly into film, TV, game, and immersive installation. Ṭaüs’ music, performance, meditations, film, video game and installation score and design have been featured at The New Museum of Contemporary Art, Harvard University, Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, NPR, The Sims, and in galleries and museums all over the world.

 In 2023, Ṭaüs released Arranged Marriage, which chronicles the inner confluence of seemingly warring forces arranged to be together - for life - and the possibility for a profound peace that comes only through their destined reconciliation.
