Sublayer

Beneath everything you think you know about being human, there's a deeper layer and we dig it up.

Sublayer explores the hidden origins behind the habits, instincts, and traits you never think to question — why your skin is the color it is, why you sleep the way you do, why "work" wasn't always a thing, and what your ancestors were actually doing 50,000 years before alarm clocks existed.

Every episode traces a piece of modern life back through archaeology, evolutionary biology, and anthropology — using real studies, real skeletons, and real fire-lit history — to show you the version of "human" that existed long before civilization rewrote the rules.

If you've ever felt like modern life doesn't fit the body and mind you were given, you're in the right place.
