StraightUpNorth research team

StraightUpNorth (SUN) is a team of northern and southern-based researchers working with Indigenous communities across northern Canada. 

We aim to address community-identified priorities and to enhance Indigenous self-determination in research.  Our cross-cultural research team is guided by northern community partners and protocols throughout all stages of a project. 

We created this channel to share videos where we give more context about our projects, provide tips on our research methods, and present some of the results of our work.

Team Lead, Gita Ljubicic, is a Professor in the School of Earth, Environment and Society at McMaster University (Hamilton, Ontario), and Canada Research Chair in Community-Engaged Research for Northern Sustainability.
