Stop Live Export South Africa

Stop Live Export South Africa, or SLESA, is a national movement formed by ordinary South Africans who refuse to accept the cruelty involved in exporting live animals by sea. Our supporters come from all walks of life — people who have stood outside in the sun, on city streets and at public marches, because they care deeply about animal welfare.
Our work is strengthened by partnerships with veterinarians, animal-welfare experts, legal specialists and international organisations who have decades of experience with this issue. We are members of the Farmed Animal Alliance, as well as the Cape Animal Welfare Forum, which together constitute over 70 animal protection organizations nationwide. We also have alliances with several international animal protection organisations.
