Southernwind Kennels - Maria Cecilia Martinez

Welcome to Southernwind Kennels, founded in 1974 by Maria Cecilia Martinez.

For over 52 years, I've dedicated my life to German Shepherd breeding, canine behavior, training, and education.

As a lifelong breeder, professional trainer, canine judge, and educator, I've learned that understanding dogs requires more than textbooks. It takes decades of observation, experience, and commitment.

Here, we go beyond beautiful dogs and impressive pedigrees.

We explore canine psychology, genetics, responsible breeding, puppy development, temperament, socialization, training, and the myths that mislead dog owners.

You'll also experience life at Southernwind, where our German Shepherds are raised with purpose, careful selection, and dedication to the families who welcome them.

My mission is to share what five decades of experience have taught me and help people truly understand the dogs they love.
