Son of a Botanist Productions

Stories from the Margins. Made for the Mainstream.
Documentaries about the people history tried to leave out — and how they're changing the story.

I'm Marc Sternberg — not a filmmaker who occasionally addresses social justice, but a strategist who uses storytelling to drive institutional change. After 20 years in Fortune 500 marketing, I came back to film with one framework: Exclusion → Excellence → Recognition.

On this channel:
- Black, Latino and Indigenous art, history and achievement
- Women breaking into male-dominated industries, from Western art to rodeo
- Stories of recovery, survival and second chances

Now streaming: Cowgirls: Women of Western Art, episode by episode
Coming soon: I Can't Eat Eggs Anymore (drama short)
On the festival circuit: JUK, a short film set in a 1950s Black queer juke joint
