SOS Somos OceanoS - We Are Oceans

because… We Are Oceans (Somos OceanoS).

Somos OceanoS (SOS), a UN Ocean Decade Project which emphasizes the ecological, social and economic values of Marine Protected Areas (MPA), and identifies the challenges faced by communities’ ecosystems when adequate MPA management is lacking. The project aims to improve human-environment interactions and bring about effective management of marine resources by producing stakeholder-led documentaries, showcasing them at local and international levels, and hosting capacity-building workshops for MPA communities. 

Many of the challenges around MPAs are universal around the world, and Somos OceanoS work demonstrates that oceanic issues - and solutions - transcend national borders.
