In 1946, two like-minded classmates from Syracuse University School of Law, Laurence “Larry” Sovik and John Timothy Smith, founded their own litigation boutique.  Later joined by Larry’s son, Laurence “Fritz” Sovik, the firm primarily focused on litigation and trial practice. Soon, they had earned a reputation as a premier litigation and appellate firm in Central New York, with some of the most aggressive, hard-nosed and successful trial attorneys in the area.

Today, Smith Sovik maintains that reputation throughout New York State. Our attorneys try cases in all New York State and Federal courts from offices in Syracuse, Buffalo, Uniondale, and Fishkill. 

Just like our founders, today Smith Sovik handles almost all types of litigation all over the Empire State and attacks every case with a winning mindset.
