Shell-Shocked & Educated

Military history, but not from behind a desk.

We’re Ash and Lucy, two military historians taking history out of the archive and back into the places where it actually happened.

Expect battlefields, bunkers, intelligence stories, forgotten voices, strange facts, questionable field decisions and the occasional unexpected appearance from a shell scrape.

Between us, our research spans military intelligence, women in warfare, medicine, conflict and the human stories often pushed to the edges of traditional military history.

We’re here to make military history engaging, accessible and a little less predictable.

Serious history. Questionable decisions. Zero chill.
