Second Sleep Stories

Slow, calm sleep stories for grown-ups who wake in the night and want to fall back asleep.

Second Sleep Stories is made first for listeners over 50, the ones who drop off fine at bedtime and then find themselves wide awake at 3 a.m. Anyone of any age who is awake when they'd rather be asleep is welcome here.

Long ago, in the time before electric lights, people spoke of a first sleep and a second sleep, with a quiet hour awake in between. These stories are for that hour.

What you'll find here:
• Gentle original stories, read slowly in a clear, unhurried human voice
• Easy to follow on hearing aids
• Dark, calm pictures made for a bedroom TV
• Long versions that carry on to the very end, with no sudden noises and no silent stretch to wake you
• No ads in the middle of a story, ever
