The Sandwell Walker

Welcome to The Sandwell Walker!

Join me as I explore the rich history of Sandwell through walking tours, historical research and then-and-now comparisons. From Smethwick, Oldbury, West Bromwich, Wednesbury, Tipton and Rowley Regis to forgotten buildings, parks, canals, industries and local landmarks, every walk uncovers the stories hidden in the streets around us.

Whether you grew up here, still live here or simply enjoy British local history, you'll find fascinating facts, archive photographs, historic maps and community memories that bring Sandwell's past to life.

If you enjoy exploring Britain's local history, please consider becoming part of our growing community as we walk through Sandwell's past and present. History isn't just found in museums. it's waiting at the end of the next street. Let's go and discover it together.
