Salammbô – A French Musical

🎭 SALAMMBÔ — A French musical by Pascal Revial, freely inspired by Gustave Flaubert's novel. 25 original songs blending French chanson, pop and rock.

First staged in 2001 with around thirty performers, to sold-out audiences in Lyon and Caluire, SALAMMBÔ returns to streaming platforms: the songs remain faithful to the original compositions, with a contemporary sound.

Carthage, 3rd century BC. After the war against Rome, the city is on the brink. Salammbô, priestess of Tanit, meets Mâtho, leader of the mercenaries. Between forbidden love, war and sacred duty, their destinies become intertwined.

3 acts. A tragedy in three movements.

🎶 Electro, jazz, funk, Middle Eastern and classical influences, in the spirit of Starmania and Notre-Dame de Paris.
