Sacro Caso

No one knows how Sacro Caso began. One story says it started with a frequency, felt the same night in a city built on seven hills and in a city built on wanting to become something. Another says it came from a letter that arrived too late. A third says it never began at all: it was always there, and two artists walked in.

What is known: there are two of them. One is in Italy, the other in America. The Atlantic runs through everything they make, not as a subject but as a condition. Distance is the instrument. The tension is the sound.

Working at night, alone, they send files across the ocean that become something neither would make alone. They release not albums but Cases: open files, evidence that something happened.

Once asked whether Sacro Caso was a project or a practice, they went silent so long the journalist checked the line. “It’s what happens,” one finally said, “when you stop asking that question.”
