SYK Project

SYK Project is an independent heavy metal band from Ankara, Turkey.
Their first release was 'All Over Again/On My Canvas' (single) in 2008, although the band had been formed a decade earlier and had material to fill at least three albums by then. Eventually, 'Capital Punishment', 'The Man Without a Friend' and 'Avalanche' were released as full-length studio albums in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Most of their singles were later collected in the album 'Witchcraft 1984' (2021).
Their fourth album 'Night Shift' was released in November 2023. It took the band almost three years to finish the album due to the pandemic and other reasons.
Perhaps the most significant characteristic of SYK Project's music is the masterful use of melancholy, which has become the trademark of their sound. Their lyrics often cover psychological themes such as anxiety, fear, anger, and longing as well as more common themes like environmental and social issues.
