Ruggiero & Lopez "Gardel a Piazzolla"

Ruggiero & López present “Gardel to Piazzolla”: A Bridge Between Tradition and the Avant-Garde of Argentine Tango.

The acclaimed Argentine instrumental duo Ruggiero / López announces their 2026 international tour featuring their latest show, “Gardel to Piazzolla.” This performance offers a profound journey through the evolution of tango, blending an exquisite selection of classic tangos and milongas with sophisticated modern arrangements that define the 21st-century sound.

With over two decades of musical partnership, Adrián Ruggiero and Juan Manuel López—widely recognized as the founding pillars of the progressive tango group Violentango—bring an exceptional sonic maturity to this duo format. Their on-stage chemistry has been forged at some of the world’s most prestigious festivals, including Glastonbury (UK).

In this new project, the duo achieves an organic balance between the raw energy of "street tango" and the technical subtlety of chamber music.
