Ragnhild Hemsing

Norwegian violinist and Hardanger fiddle player Ragnhild Hemsing brings together the worlds of classical music and Norwegian folk tradition.

Growing up in Valdres, Norway, Ragnhild has developed a distinctive musical voice across both the violin and the Hardanger fiddle. Her work ranges from the great classical repertoire to new music for the Hardanger fiddle, Peer Gynt, Vivaldi, Norwegian folk music and collaborations across genres.

Here I share performances, music from concerts and recordings, the sound and stories of the Hardanger fiddle, and moments from life as a musician.
