RAH Root Awakening Homestead

Root Awakening Homestead — RAH (pronounced “raw”) — is about getting back to the roots of how we live.

RAH is short for Root Awakening Homestead, while “raw” reflects its second meaning: a more natural, less processed, less disconnected way of living.

We believe much of what we're searching for in the future can be found by looking back—not to recreate the past, but to recover the knowledge, skills, food systems, traditions, and connection to the land that modern life has pushed aside.

We're building RAH in the Florida Panhandle and documenting the journey: regenerative gardening and farming, homestead projects, animals, food and health, self-reliance, old skills, forgotten knowledge, and experiments that work—and probably a few that don't.

The old ways weren't always better. We ask why, learn from what worked, combine it with what we know today, and build something better for tomorrow.

Rooted in old ways. Growing new ones.

The future is buried in the past.
