Quintinha do Sossego

Welcome to Quintinha do Sossego, our small farm of tranquillity in rural Portugal.

We’re Callum and Morwenna, swapping life in Cornwall for a rather different adventure near Penamacor in central Portugal.

This is our record of what happens next: restoring and improving our quinta, developing the land, growing food, keeping animals, tackling an old stone ruin, exploring rural Portugal and attempting an ever-growing collection of projects that may or may not have been properly thought through.

There could be donkeys, goats, chickens, ducks, bees and reptiles, not to mention crops out the wazoo! Then there are the building projects, machinery, occasional successes and an entirely reasonable amount of swearing, sensitively censored for comedic effect.

Mostly, we’re making this content for ourselves, our family and our friends: a record of the journey and the memories we make along the way. But you’re very welcome to come with us.

Bem-vindos à Quintinha do Sossego.
