Pleochroma

Pleochroma is a free, open-source suite for gemstone faceting: design a cut, solve and optimize it, plan stones from a rough, and see the result in a spectral path tracer that renders dispersion, polarization, birefringence and color the way a real stone shows them.

This channel has the video tutorials for the Pleochroma desktop editor: short, step-by-step lessons on starting a design, adding tiers, solving, comparing variants, planning from rough, choosing materials and colors, lighting and rendering, and exporting cutting instructions. Every video follows a lesson you can also run inside the program (Help → Tutorials).

Pleochroma runs on Windows, Linux and macOS, and in the browser at live.pleochroma.com.
